The Texada Island Inn in Van Anda has a beautiful gallery with local artists - all sorts of prices, styles and types of wares from candles to paintings. Flower rock items as well.

 

Sadie and Daisy's to your right as you drive up the hill to the Van Anda grocery store (Texada Market) is wonderful for thrifting - it is beside the post office.

 

The Texada Home and Garden Centre is not to be missed, with a great coffee shop and pizza shop too with ice cream. Lots of souvenirs and local artists’ wares - including very cool local

On Thursday and Sunday the girl guides second hand store across from the mailboxes by the RCMP in Gillies Bay will be open 11 am to 12:30 pm. Shopping paid for “by the bag” $1 to $2. lots of great treasures and high quality affordable items.

The Texada Island Inn has both a pub and a restaurant. The restaurant is known for its soups and desserts, either indoors or on it's patio, as well as other meals including tasty old standy pizzas and great coffee.

​

Mary Mary Cafe is located on Marble Bay Road in Van Anda right by the ball park. It's got a varied menu with great coffee and it's old style milk shake machine.

​

The Texada Home and Garden Centre has huge ice cream cones at a great price, as well as creative pizzas and cold brew coffee.​

​​

In the summer months, the Shelter Point Concession Stand is open with typical yummy beachside meals.

Gillies Bay beach is amazing; Shelter point is awesome - with a beautiful Nature Trail with parking just at the location of the turn into the park; Erickson Beach park in Van Anda is very nice as well.

The Texada Museum is quite reknowned!  10 am to 3 pm Tues, Thurs, Friday,  and Saturday in the summer months. Hours are limited other seasons, so please check the website for this and more information - http://www.texadaheritagesociety.com/index13.htm.

The Texada Military Memorabilia Museum, in the Royal Canadian Legion in Van Anda at 2099 Legion Road, displays RCMP and Armed Forces uniforms, equipment, books and curiosities - https://www.prpeak.com/in-the-community/museum-on-texada-island-offers-hands-on-approach-to-armed-forces-history-3414794. The Texada Aerospace Camp Hangar, located at the Texada Airport, is the venue for the TEXADA AEROSPACE CAMP, in addition to housing the Airbuzz flight simulator and the Texada Aviation Museum. Museum displays include a large diorama, suspended aircraft, and numerous aircraft parts and models. There is also an Aviation Library available for public use. Access available daily 10 am – 6 pm, by appointment. Contact O.C. (Doby) Dobrostansky, 604-223-2588, dgart@telus.net. Note that these hours are limited during camp days.

 

At Shelter Point Regional Park, there is a display of First Nations artefacts, in a museum window case on the outside wall of the caretaker’s residence, beside the Concession Stand. Archaeological studies show that Tla’amin occupied Shelter Point from 3,300 years ago until the mid-1800’s.
